KANSAS CITY, MO (October 10, 2019) —The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) announced it will be issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) next week for assistance in conducting a business and technical assessment of the NAIC’s System for Electronic Rates and Forms Filing (SERFF).
SERFF is a web-based system that facilitates the electronic submission of insurance product filings by insurers and the regulatory review of such filings by insurance regulators. SERFF is widely used, processing more than 550,000 transactions a year, including plan submissions related to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and product filings submitted to the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission.
The NAIC seeks a firm to provide a detailed analysis of the technical capabilities of SERFF in conjunction with the business needs of the association and its members. Qualified firms must have demonstrated experience in software evaluations.
The RFP is expected to be issued by Friday, October 18th, and will be posted on the NAIC’s website (www.naic.org).
