"Hurricane Joaquin is intensifying. While the path of the storm is unknown, it could reach the East Coast as early as Oct. 2. According to the National Hurricane Center as the morning of Oct. 1. Joaquin is currently battering the Bahamas. It's a Category 3 hurricane with the potential to become a Category 4 later today. Even if the storm remains at sea, its effects could still cause damage to the mid-Atlantic.
