Dear Colleagues,
We hope everyone is well and staying safe as we all deal with what's becoming our new normal. COVID-19 has quickly become a top priority for our members and the NAIC and we're working to make sure you have the information you need.
Coronavirus Resource Center and Database
Thank you for sending in your bulletins, alerts and more for the Coronavirus Resource Center. The resource continues to grow, so we’ve recently created a new NAIC Coronavirus database that allows users to quickly find state actions, bulletins and alerts.
State actions can easily be sorted by state, type of action and/or line of insurance. Downloadable spreadsheets list actions by state for Life and Health, Property and Casualty, and Emergency Declarations/Shelter in Place Orders.
The NAIC will update the database every Tuesday and Thursday as state regulators declare new actions.
Special Edition of the Regulators Podcast
This month's episode of The Regulators is a special edition with NAIC CEO and host Mike Consedine and NAIC President and South Carolina Director of Insurance Ray Farmer. The episode focused on COVID-19 and insurance regulation. Director Farmer talks about how state insurance departments are responding to this global pandemic and how it's become priority one for the NAIC.

Hurricane Season
Meteorologists and weather forecasters have predicted an above-average hurricane season in the Atlantic this year. To better support your departments, we are pulling together materials that may be useful to you and your staff in educating consumers in your state about the dangers. The #YourRiskisReal and #ReduceYourRisk toolkits are currently available in the PIO Resource Center for your use.
The NAIC has the following planned: April 29th, Press Release, May 6th SMT and ongoing social media efforts.
PIO Slack Channel
If you haven’t been participating in the PIO Slack channel the NAIC set up last month, it’s a great place to communicate and gather best practices from other PIOs quickly and efficiently. It’s just one of the ways the NAIC is evolving to support our members as we all work remotely over the coming weeks. If you have questions about the Slack channel or need assistance using it, please feel free to reach out to us for help.

The third Thursday of each month, we hold our regular PIO call. If you have any state news and/or announcements you'd like to discuss, please email them to srbryant@naic.org.
