Happy New Year and welcome to the first edition of Farmer's Files.
We had a great meeting early in January for committee assignments. With so many talented and dedicated individuals, I know we are going to continue to make great progress on the NAIC's priorities.
The Regulators Podcast
Just in time for my debut on The Regulators, our podcast is now available on Apple Podcast. I encourage all of you to take a listen and give us a rating. In addition to talking insurance issues, it's a great way to learn some of the personal stories. If you would like to be a guest on the podcast, or have issues you'd like to see spotlighted, please send your ideas to news@naic.org.
Commissioners' Conference
I hope everyone has made their travel plans for the Commissioners' Conference, February 13-15. On Thursday, February 13 at 2:30 p.m. ET we will have a Joint Executive and Plenary meeting to consider adoption of the Suitability in Annuity Transactions Model Regulation (#275). If you are not attending the conference, be sure to dial in as we bring this important project to a close.
International Forum
In just a few days you will receive registration information for the NAIC's annual International Insurance Forum. As in year's past, we have a great lineup of regulators, industry representatives, and other experts coming together to tackle tough issues facing the international regulatory community. This year we are looking forward to welcoming Vice Chairman Randal Quarles of the Federal Reserve Board as our keynote speaker. I hope you will be able to join us on May 4-5 in Washington, DC.
