Protect Your Family and Property

Disaster Assistance Program

The NAIC can provide help to state and territory insurance regulators following natural disasters. The Disaster Assistance Program offers services such as coordinated data calls, consumer call assistance, support from volunteer regulators, and more. Contact memberservices@naic.org to learn more.

Disaster Response Plan

State insurance regulators can use this template in advance of a disaster to help aid consumers and work alongside other agencies. The document also includes guidance for insurers and other licensees.

Post Disaster Claims Guide

Understand what to do after a natural disaster damages your home and learn the tools and tips that can help you to navigate the insurance claims process. For floods and earthquakes, most homeowners policies won’t cover the damage unless you bought coverage separately. Your state insurance department will help you and answer any questions—free of charge.

Home Inventory Application

Our Home Inventory app makes it easy to create a record of all of your belongings, including the ability to scan barcodes and upload photos of your items.

Go-Bag Disaster Prep

Don't let lack of preparation be your first disaster. Most people don't prepare until it’s too late. See what the NAIC suggests you pack—just in case you need to relocate in a hurry.
