WASHINGTON (March 27, 2023)

NAIC Names Kimberli Stewart Director of Communications

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) announces Kimberli (Kim) Stewart as the Association’s new Director of Communications. Stewart started her new role on March 20, 2023, and is based in Washington, D.C. 

The NAIC Communications division provides communications tools and resources to its members from the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 5 U.S. territories. As the Director of Communications, Stewart will oversee editorial, marketing, and the naic.org website for the organization. 

Stewart joins the NAIC from the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), where she was the Editorial Director and Editor-in-Chief. Prior to working for NACS, Stewart was a Senior Editor for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and she was a News Editor, Copyeditor, and Special Writer for The Wall Street Journal and WSJ.com.

Stewart earned a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English (writing) and Historic Preservation from the University of Mary Washington (Mary Washington College). She has undertaken executive education coursework with the Cornell Dyson School of Applied Economics & Management and the Yale School of Management.
