NAIC Participates in IAIS Annual General Meeting and Annual Conference in Tokyo
During the week of November 6, 2023, NAIC Members and staff participated in the committee meetings and the Annual General Meeting and Annual Conference of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) in Tokyo, Japan.
Notably, NAIC Members moderated or participated on four panels, including those on natural catastrophe protection gaps, consumer protection, climate disclosures, and the Insurance Capital Standard (ICS).
In addition, NAIC Members and staff held bilateral meetings with 12 other jurisdictions to exchange views on our respective regulatory priorities, including ongoing initiatives on enhancing climate risk and resiliency efforts, strengthening the oversight of technology (including AI/ML), and closing the protection gap, among others.
