The federal Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires qualified health plans (QHPs) that are offered to individuals and small businesses through the marketplace exchanges to provide timely access to within network health care. This session will begin with a brief description of a long-term Center for Insurance Policy and Research (CIPR) research project on network adequacy. Presenters will then describe the concept of network adequacy, related regulations, and its importance to consumers. Presenters will follow this discussion with various visual statistics and analytical results on network adequacy across the U.S.
