Chandara K. Phanachone is the Director of the Insurance Diversity Initiative at the California Department of Insurance where she leads public policies to advance greater opportunities in supplier and insurer boardroom diversity for women, LGBTQ+ people, veterans, disabled veterans, people with disabilities, and historically underrepresented communities.  In her role, Chandara advises California’s chief insurance regulator on key insurance diversity policies & issues as part of the National Association of Insurance Commissioner’s Special (EX) Committee on Race & Insurance and serves as co-chair of the Member Diversity Leadership Forum. Chandara earned her MBA from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from UC Berkeley.
