Rhode Island ACP:

New in 2026** The ACP was repealed and replaced with electronic producer appointment filings effective 01/01/2025. The final ACP OPTIns submission should have been made by March 1, 2025. See Rhode Island Bulletin 2024-6. 

Rhode Island Company Licensing:  

Rhode Island Annual Statement Filing Fees (Company Licensing Renewals) Through OPTins– Due April 1st

New in 2021** The RI Insurance Division is pleased to announce that payment of Annual Statement Renewal Fees no longer have to be made via mailed check and can now be submitted in OPTins. As we have done for the last few years, the RI Insurance Division will email the annual statement filing fee instructions and worksheet via the NAIC’s SBS platform to the company’s designee.

Fee Schedule

Accredited Reinsurers – annual renewal fee $100

Approved Reinsurers – annual renewal fee $100

Domestic Insurance Companies – annual renewal fee $225

Risk Retention Group – annual renewal fee $100

Surplus Lines Insurers – annual renewal fee $100

Foreign Insurance Companies – calculate the annual fee using the worksheet included with the invoice you received

Please note: all filings must include a copy of the completed invoice worksheet. The information gathered is instrumental in ensuring our records are current.

Rhode Island Company Assessments:

New in 2022 ** To continue our efforts to streamline invoicing and payments, actuarial assessment invoices will be emailed/mailed in Quarter 1 with payment instructions. Each invoice includes a specific dollar amount per company.

Please note: all filings must include a copy of the actuarial assessment invoice.

There are two reports/filings that RI accepts through OPTins. Additional details are below.

  • Annual Statement Filing Fees – Due April 1st
  • Actuary Assessment – These invoices are mailed out to each company annually generally in April/May. Each invoice includes a specific dollar amount per company. Please include a copy of the Actuarial Assessment invoice that you received.
