Colorado: NIPR Paper Licensing
COLORADO: PAPER LICENSING

Electronic Processing
Colorado requires all new license, reinstatement, and renewal applications to be submitted online. All paper applications will be returned unprocessed.

Resident New License Applicants
If you are applying for an authority that requires an examination, you must wait 2 days after passing your examination before applying online. Additional required licensing documents, such as screening question documentation, can be submitted through the NIPR Attachment Warehouse, faxed, or mailed to Pearson VUE. If you are required to pass a Pearson VUE examination and/or complete pre-licensing certification, verification must be received prior to license issuance. If your application does not require any additional information to be submitted and there are no issues that would prevent your license from being issued, your license will processed within 3 to 5 business days.

License Renewal
Producers who wish to renew their license must submit a complete renewal application online and mail, fax, or submit through the NIPR Attachment Warehouse all required documents to be received by Pearson VUE no later than the expiration date of your license. This includes the online renewal and fee, and any/all required documents. Failure to do so may result in license suspension, denial, or an imposed fine from the Colorado Division of Insurance.

Colorado Licenses
The Colorado Division of Insurance no longer prints paper licenses for regulated entities (producers and agents), but utilizes a paperless licensing method. Please visit the Division website for information on Printing of a License.

This change affects all licenses issued by the Division of Insurance, except Bail Bond Licenseswhich will continue to be provided on paper.

Legal Status
All producers must comply with United States legal status requirements. Producers who submit a resident renewal online after December 31, 2006 must complete the legal status requirements. Nonresident producers must be able to provide documentation of compliance as requested. See Colorado Bulletin No 04-06 at www.dora.state.co.us.

Title and Attorney Title Producers
All Title Producers {Individuals and Agencies} are required to disclose the names of all affiliated business arrangements to which the employing broker is a party at the time of initial application, continuation application, or any changes that would effect: affiliations, producer registrations, name changes, address changes, officer changes, or restructuring of the business entity.

All Title producers submitting new and renew applications must complete the Affiliated Business form located at this site.

This form MUST be completed within 30 days of your license being issued or renewed.
