Join the Conversation: Apply for the 2027 NAIC Consumer Participation Program
Through Oct. 31, 2026, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is accepting applications for its 2027 Consumer Participation Program. Those selected will have the opportunity to help shape conversations around natural catastrophe risk, property and casualty insurance, solvency, market conduct oversight, life insurance, accessibility and affordability, and other insurance-related policy areas.
“At national meetings and in day-to-day committee, task force, and working group discussions, NAIC consumer representatives have informed state insurance regulators’ decision-making process for 25 years,” said Virginia Insurance Commissioner and NAIC President Scott A. White. “They play a valued and unique role that further strengthens our state-based system.”
The NAIC encourages consumer-focused advocates, academics, researchers, and nonprofit leaders to apply.
Representatives may serve as either funded or unfunded participants. The distinction is based solely on whether travel support is provided—not on qualifications, expertise, or role within the program.
Funded representatives receive travel support when their organizations cannot support participation costs, while unfunded representatives participate using their own funding sources for travel costs.
