NAIC 2022 All Commissioner Fly-In
The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is holding its 2022 All Commissioner Fly-In virtually on April 27-28. The annual event is an opportunity for state insurance regulators to meet with their members of Congress and discuss efforts to assist constituents and advocate for state and NAIC priorities.
This year, chief insurance regulators plan to discuss the need for a long-term reauthorization of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP); proposals that strengthen health insurance markets; protecting policyholders during an insurance receivership; and support for legislation (H.R. 3099) to provide state insurance regulators a vote on the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC), as well as legislation (S. 3529/H.R. 5914) to support state regulators’ efforts to target senior fraud.
About the National Association of Insurance Commissioners
As part of our state-based system of insurance regulation in the United States, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the industry and protect consumers. The U.S. standard-setting organization is governed by the chief insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. Through the NAIC, state insurance regulators establish standards and best practices, conduct peer reviews, and coordinate regulatory oversight. NAIC staff supports these efforts and represents the collective views of state regulators domestically and internationally.
