NAIC Members Meet with the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators
NAIC Members and staff participated in the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators (CCIR) meeting in Montreal, Canada, on April 15–16. The CCIR is the association of the insurance regulators in the Canadian provinces.
During the meeting, Nebraska Department of Insurance Director Eric Dunning and South Carolina Department of Insurance Director and NAIC Secretary-Treasurer Michael Wise presented on the structure of the NAIC, the Association’s key priorities, and its international activities.
In the ensuing discussions, the NAIC and CCIR highlighted issues of mutual interest, including building NatCat resilience and enhancing cybersecurity. The organizations also exchanged views on opportunities for future collaboration.

As part of our state-based system of insurance regulation in the United States, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the industry and protect consumers.
