NAIC Receives DE&I Global Impact Award of Distinction for Its Advocacy for Workplace Inclusion
On Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, the Bowman Foundation for Workplace Equity and Mental Wellness recognized Evelyn Boswell, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ (NAIC) Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I), for her workplace inclusion initiatives at the NAIC. It is the first DE&I recognition for the NAIC.
Boswell was among a select group of Honorees of Distinction at the Bowman Foundation for Workplace Equity and Mental Wellness’ 2022 Annual Global Impact Awards and Gala. The Bowman Foundation recognized DE&I leaders and organizations who are making historic strides toward fair and equitable workplaces and communities, specifically through a focus on mental wellness and equity.
“I’m very appreciative of this inaugural award for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion department,” Boswell said. “As the NAIC is still young on this journey, two years, we’re honored that our accomplishments in the mental health awareness area are being recognized.”
Boswell acknowledged the support NAIC DE&I leaders provide as key to carrying out the goals and objectives of the NAIC’s DE&I initiatives.
“Receiving the Global Impact Award of Distinction for Advocacy for Workplace Inclusion is a result of the hard work of every DE&I leader at the NAIC,” said NAIC CEO Mike Consedine. “The NAIC has taken great strides to make sure our organization, community, and the nation knows that we are intentional about DE&I.”
The Bowman Foundation for Workplace Equity and Mental Wellness is a workplace equity advocacy organization dedicated to raising awareness and providing research, support, and education.
