DE&I Report

San Diego, CA (Dec. 14, 2021)

The NAIC Releases Its First DE&I Report

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) releases its first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Report, today. The report focuses on activities supporting NAIC’s DE&I Framework, which was developed last year to drive change, and promote accountability throughout the workplaces at the NAIC.

The framework better supports the NAIC’s vision for DE&I, and serves as the blueprint for implementing the goals and objectives of the organization that have evolved from its internal strategy.

The 2020-2021 report focuses on activities that support the four key areas of the DE&I Framework:

  • The workforce
  • The workplace
  • Supporting NAIC members
  • Volunteering and supporting the communities NAIC employees live and work

"The NAIC recognizes that making progress with DE&I is a journey of cultural change,” said Evelyn Boswell, NAIC’s Director of Diversity Equity and Inclusion.” The report showcases how employees foster a diverse and inclusive culture where employees are encouraged to share their authentic selves."

About the National Association of Insurance Commissioners

As part of our state-based system of insurance regulation in the United States, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the industry and protect consumers. The U.S. standard-setting organization is governed by the chief insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. Through the NAIC, state insurance regulators establish standards and best practices, conduct peer reviews, and coordinate regulatory oversight. NAIC staff supports these efforts and represents the collective views of state regulators domestically and internationally.
