Over 2,500 Register for Hybrid NAIC Summer National Meeting

Over 2,500 state insurance regulators, staff, industry representatives, interested parties, and more have registered to attend the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ (NAIC) hybrid Summer National Meeting this week in Chicago, Illinois. Taking place on August 12–15, the event is the second of three annual national meetings that showcase the collaborative approach at the heart of the state-based insurance regulatory system.

NAIC Members and staff will hold committee, working group, and task force meetings as they continue working on behalf of consumers to address the insurance challenges facing domestic and global markets.  

Special events include (open to both virtual and in-person attendees):

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Leadership Breakfast on Tuesday, August 13, from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. CDT featuring a panel of insurance industry professionals and a DE&I leader discussing the importance of financial inclusion in the insurance sector and highlighting financial protection gaps with immigrant communities.
  • “Measuring and Assessing (Homeowner) Insurance Affordability," a Center for Insurance Policy and Research (CIPR) session on Wednesday, August 14, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. CDT. Panelists will discuss and answer pressing questions on affordability, such as what is driving insurance cost increases and what options consumers have at their disposal. Additionally, trends in cost and metrics illustrating affordability changes over time will be presented.
