International Fellows Program
The NAIC International Fellows Program provides international regulators with virtual and in-person training on U.S. insurance regulation to enhance global regulatory collaboration.
Celebrating 20 Years
In 2025, the NAIC celebrated the 20th anniversary of the International Fellows Program. We reflected on two decades of fostering global regulatory collaboration and knowledge exchange. Since its inception, the program has welcomed over 900 participants, both in person and virtually, from more than 60 countries, providing invaluable training and hands-on experience in U.S. insurance regulation. This milestone is a testament to the program's enduring impact and the strong partnerships it has built worldwide. Here's to many more years of advancing international regulatory excellence!
Fall 2026 In-Person International Fellows Program
The Fall 2026 session of the NAIC International Fellows Program begins with a week-long orientation program at the Central Office in Kansas City, Missouri, focusing on the broad principles of insurance regulation in the United States. Each fellow then travels to a different state for five weeks, working in technical areas of their specialization under the supervision of a state insurance department staff member, who serves as a mentor and host. The Fall session concludes in New York City with training at the NAIC Capital Markets and Investment Analysis Office, including roundtables with U.S. insurance industry representatives and consumer representatives and a ceremonial graduation dinner to highlight the fellows' accomplishments.
The NAIC and host state regulators will provide training materials. All other costs (airfare, lodging, meals, etc.) through the entirety of the program are the responsibility of the fellow's home agency and/or the fellow.
