Health insurers must file with the DOI by March 20 a notification describing, among other things, how the insurer is communicating with insureds, including its policies to remove barriers to obtaining prescription drugs, such as waiving waiting periods between prescriptions and allowing single prescriptions for a 90 day supply, eliminating refill limits, providing free delivery, and assuring access by streamlining or eliminating processes for requesting prior authorization, step therapy exceptions, and exceptions for obtaining off-formulary drugs when a drug is unavailable due to supply chain disruptions or similar issues.
