Mission 

The mission of the Surplus Lines (C) Task Force is to monitor the surplus lines market and regulation, including the activity and financial condition of U.S. and alien surplus lines insurers by providing a forum for discussion of issues and to develop or amend relevant NAIC model laws, regulations and/or guidelines.

SURPLUS LINES (C) TASK FORCE 

The mission of the Surplus Lines (C) Task Force is to monitor the surplus lines market and regulation, including the activity and financial condition of U.S. and non-U.S. surplus lines insurers participating in the U.S. market by providing a forum for discussion of issues and to develop or amend relevant NAIC model laws, regulations and/or guidelines. 

The Surplus Lines (C) Task Force will: 

  1. Provide a forum for discussion of current and emerging surplus lines-related issues and topics of public policy and determine appropriate regulatory response and action. 

  1. Review and analyze industry data on U.S. domestic and non-U.S. surplus lines insurers participating in the U.S. market.  

  1. Monitor federal legislation related to the surplus lines market, and ensure all interested parties remain apprised.  

  1. Develop or amend relevant NAIC model laws, regulations, and/or guidelines.  

  1. Oversee the activities of the Surplus Lines (C) Working Group.
